Jakob Kronbichler is an experienced entrepreneur with over 10 years' experience building and scaling venture-backed start-ups.

Prior to co-founding Clearpool, Jakob joined German venture-builder Rocket Internet, scaling two of their marketplace ventures, Foodpanda and Jumia – both going from inception to IPO within a few years. Jakob then moved to Aspire as Commercial Director, Southeast Asia's leading digital Neobank.

Jakob co-founded Clearpool in 2021 to solve one of the most significant problems facing DeFi borrowers – overcollateralization. Jakob scaled the protocol to originate $650+ million total loans to top-tier institutional borrowers such as the Wall Street giant, Jane Street and market makers such as Wintermute.

Following Clearpool’s success in DeFi lending, Jakob led the team to launch Ozean — the blockchain for Real-World Asset (RWA) yield, backed and supported by Optimism.

Jakob brings a fast-growth startup mentality with a focus on building a strong ecosystem of borrowers, lenders and ecosystem partners.
